3D FMCW Radar Using Beam Switching Transmitter

نویسندگان

چکیده

This study proposes a 24 GHz FMCW radar system to detect the 3-dimensional location of target. To determine azimuth and elevation angles target, proposed includes seven transmitters, illuminating between −17.5° 17.5° with 5° resolution, receiver 2×4 array. Instead using conventional switch, beam steering is performed by directly switching power amplifier transmitter. Experimental results show that detects target an RCS −12.40 dBsm at distance 350 m 20 dB SNR.

Transmitter Noise Considerations in Super-Nyquist FMCW Radar Design

In this letter, we introduce a design consideration for super-Nyquist FMCW radar systems relating to transmitter to receiver noise leakage. Phase noise curves comparing the fundamental DDS frequency and its 2nd super-Nyquist image show a significant increase in relative noise level at all offsets from the carrier. This results in a reduced transmitter signal-to-noise ratio. It is shown with a s...

Estimating alpine snowpack properties using FMCW radar

Large variations in both snow water equivalent (SWE) and snow slope stability are known to exist in the alpine snowpack, caused by wind, topographic and microclimatic effects. This variability makes extrapolation of point measurements of snowpack properties difficult and prone to error, but these types of measurements are used to estimate SWE and stability across entire mountain ranges. Radar t...

Fmcw Based Mimo Imaging Radar

There are a number of potential applications for low cost short range phased array radar sensors: ship bumpers, large vehicle sensors and level crossing obstacle detection for example. Phased arrays have the benefit of reduced size and the elimination of moving parts compared with more traditional rotating antenna systems. Another potential benefit is that the image update rate can be orders of...

Interception FMCW radar using Wigner-Ville Distribution (WVD)

Using ESM, RWR and ARM missiles pose significant limitations to the performance of the radar systems in new battles. In these wars, MTI radars are commonly used with high Power to achieve long ranges, therefore they are easily detectable by the enemy EW receivers, and so they lose their effectiveness. In addition to having the ability of anti-Jamming and good ECCM, the radar systems should to u...
